Thanks for that. I had a look on the archive site it's pretty difficult to get anything out of it. From the census details it looks as though Duncan Haggart was born in Kenmore. It looks as though this was a key area for the Haggart's so i'm looking for Duncan parents, Archibald Haggart and Catherine Campbell in this area. Do you have any suggestions? I've looked through census details and their are Archibald Haggarts, but i'm having problems finding the right one!
So often the problem !
You may have to put together a jigsaw of all the Archibalds in the area, e.g. trace forward and see which ones don't fit.

See previous email re The New Statistical Account and the NAS catalogue.

Ross,
Have you looked at Duncan's 1851 census record to see who he is living with? Hopefully this would confirm his parents' names.

Hi back again, i've been trying to look for Duncan Haggart in the 1881 census, but no joy? Also tried 1871 but no luck. Is it possible theve been missed out completely? Their are plenty of Duncan Haggart but none of the ages match, would these be accurate or could the ages be wrong? I'm sure it's not that so why would they be missing?
Thanks

Hello again Ross,
The census details above show Duncan age 37 in 1881.
I did a search on SP for a Duncan Haggart age 7 in 1851 and there is one living in Perth(shire). Hopefully he is yours and you will see who he is living with.
Regards,
Annette M
