Birth record of Margaret Clark

Hello all

I am looking for the birth record/certificate of Margaret Clark. She was suppose to have been born on 15 August 1887 in Lanark, Lanarkshire.
Her parents were Samuel Clark and Alison Johnston.
I have found the family in the 1891 Scottish census as:
Samuel Clark, age 28 (born Ireland) an Iron Plainer
Alison Clark, age 24 (born Whitburn, Lanarkshire)
Margaret Clark, age 4 (born Coatbridge, Lanarkshire)
Jeanie Clark, age 2 (born Coatbridge, Lanarkshire)
Alison Clark, age 1 month (born Coatbridge, Lanarkshire)
The family emigrated to Australia on 4 January 1892 from Liverpool

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Scotland's People have a Margaret Clark born 1887 in Coatbridge .
Don't have enough credits to see the certificate. but this may be your girl.

Hi Gail,

The Clark family group that you have shown in the 1891 census are not the Clarks according to their birth certificates (and parents' marriage certificate):

• Margaret Clark Whisker (18 August 1887)
• Jane Clark Whisker 1889
• Allison Clark Whisker 1891

They are the children of Samuel Clark Whisker (Iron Turner, or Iron Planer) and Alison Whisker (ms Johnston), whose marriage (bride's first name spelling = ALLISON) can be found on ScotlandsPeople.

Work that out.

Thank you so much for your help. I think you've cracked it. I now have the marriage and Samuel's mothers maiden surname is Clark. I also now have the birth record. I had been looking for 'Clark' as the surname for Samuel and family and I can't believe it's actually Whisker.

I really appreciate your help so much.
