Re: My great great grandfather Robert Watson
Hi goldenboy,
The Campbell Watson that I found in Glasgow was the son of James Watson (iron moulder) and Catherine Wilkieson. That couple were producing children in Falkirk from 1851 to 1865, and in Dundee from 1868 to 1872. As given above, one of their sons was named Campbell, and they produced two daughters named Elizabeth Campbell Watson (presumably the first one died young). There is a fair chance that they are related in some way to your Watsons.
All the best,
AndrewP

Re: My great great grandfather Robert Watson
I have been trawling through all my Watson information and on his son Robert's marriage to Mary Riddle in Edinburgh in 1890 Robert is registered as deceased.
This narrows it down a little bit

Side tracking:
I wonder where his wife Margaret was buried?
Does she have a headstone and is he included on it?
The Falkirk History Society's magazine Calatria has various cemeteries indexed with headstone inscriptions, I only have 1 or 2 but the local libraries all have copies
The British newspaper archives seem to have an entry for a Margret Watson Campbell in October of 1875 in the Falkirk Herald wonder if that's her funeral notice? I don't have a subscription to it so can't check further.
There doesn't seem to be an equivalent notice for a Robert Watson - but there's a lot of gobbledegook as it's obviously computer generated!

The only death I can see for October 1875 in the Falkirk Herald is for a 78-year old Margaret Wilson Campbell who died 26th October at Sunnyside in the house of her son-in-law. Re: My great great grandfather Robert Watson
ah so it is -
it seemed to be either muddling Wilson/Watson or giving me both results , the Campbell bit threw me too.
Sorry.
Where were they living when she died GoldenBoy? that could give a clue to burial place, and were they Church of Scotland?

Re: My great great grandfather Robert Watson
Cistern Lane most probably, long gone, but was behind the High Street, near to where the Wheatsheaf Inn still stands.
That would mean the Tattie Kirk off Cow Wynd or Silver Row graveyards.
Tattie Kirk still has gravestones, but Silver Row is now under Callender Square Shopping centre, they were all reinterred in Camelon but the stones are who knows where.
Notvsure whennill be able to check but I'll bear them in mind.
Edit: I checked the memento mori site, it covers much of falkirk now, but no sign of them in any of the listings.
