online book problem

Post by Rach » Fri Dec 18, 2009 3:53 pm

The family story was that Archibald Walker was a Chartistand had been transported to Australia. However I hadn't been able to prove anything. Recently I googled Archibald Walker Chartist and found an online book which I think was under a Chartist case but it froze on me. The short bit I did see was that Archibald resided now or lately at Bread Street. This is where he lived in Edinburgh. However I have tried this website again and I cannot access it without it freezing. Perhaps it is something I am doing/not doing. Please, will someone give it a try and see if they have better luck and if there is any more information about the case? Thanks.
This is the website:

Hi Rach,

Sorry...I did give it a try and the page did open but then froze on me too, so no information for you. I don't know why, but this site always freezes on me.

Maybe someone else will have better luck.

Regards,
Anne H

I think it might be something to do with the size of the files as they seem quite large - I was also having problems with this site a few weeks ago, but eventually saw the text I was looking for.

Thanks for your patience, Lesley. It looks as if I have tracked him down at last. Will see where I go from here.
That other address opened really quickly, thanks John. Will now go and have a proper look at it.
