Again, thank you all for your suggestions, information and comments. Much appreciated. After examining the IGI I wonder about the possibility that the 'document ' is a list of persons baptzed into the Mormon Faith. I say that because Thomas SNOWDON and Marjory THOMSON settled in Utah near Salt Lake City for a time then the remainder of their lives in Alberta near Cardston.
A little more digging required.
And sorry about the document orientation - - - my lousy computer skills again!!!
Dave.

If it's the townland of Bantry, the only problem is that that's in Co. Cork.
For a list of Co. Armagh townlands, see http://www.ancestryireland.com/database ... nds_armagh - anyone see anything that fits?
I'd doubt if it's the Mormons since they are quite insistent on the name of the church being "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints", and I'd be suprised if that could be fitted in on the remaining space on the RH page.
Looking at the whole page it's obviously a church where adult baptism was the norm.
What is also noticable is the number of different names in the "Baptized By" column......

Hi Dave
Thinking ahead a little, do you know if either of these people were married in Scotland - if so, are there any clues as to their church on the marriage entries?
This site lists churches in Fife, but I'm not seeing anythig which helps so far:
http://www.thefifepost.com/churches.htm
Don't know if it is relevant but I don't think there is an LDS chuch in Dunfermline by the look of things - nearest seems to be in Kirkcaldy.
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... et_fhc.asp
...and looking at those arrows at the bottom of the document - what are they doing there? Are they original, or did you add them?
Best wishes
Lesley

Which brings to mind the Baptist Church. Could that be a possibility? I'm not up on church titles, but isn't it's full title Church of John the Baptist?Looking at the whole page it's obviously a church where adult baptism was the norm
