Hi,

How it was explained to me at the ANESFHS was that if the shild was so young that the coffin could be held under arm, or old enough for the coffin to be held in the "traditional" over arm style. Don't know if this is correct and if it is i don't know at what age (size?) the method changes.

Thank you, Grothenwell! You must be right that it has to do with the size of the child. I'm afraid I forgot to ask when I was in Aberdeen :oops: I was going to ask the archivist at St Machar's, then wasn't able to see him after all, and it slipped my mind. Ah well, there's always the next trip :lol:
