John Gardner, 1827, falkirk, stirling, scotland

Hi,
Seeking info on the above John. He was the son of
William Gardner & Marion Leishman, born 23/Jne/1827.
The family were in Lanark in 1841 & still there with
widowed mother in 1851, but not John.
Does anyone know for sure where he was by then?
Could have left home for work/marriage, returned to
Stirling, emigrated? Thanks carmar
