Hi all,
Could you please look at the following OPR entry from 1828. I am trying primarily to work out what number of child this is. From what I know he is the third child but that may not be the case.
I also have a question about the witnesses. Is the latter witness recorded as just Bradbrook or is he James Bradbrook?

As regards the witnesses it can be read either as "James McKellar [or W Kellar??] and Braidbrook", - or intended to be read as "James McKellar and James Braidbrook", i.e. they were both Jas.
What's the usage on other entries on this and other pages?

Thanks David and Cat,
3rd child would make sense so that's good. To me it just looks like a squiggle.
@David- I think it is the latter. After the father of the child died the mother went on to marry a James Bradbrook. That could be coincidence or maybe not.
There are 6 other entried on the page and the format of the witnesses are as such. I've not expanded them.
1. Janet Edmund Dunlop. Willm Lechie and Willm Robb Wit.
2. Anna Young McLaren. King Warren and McGary Wit.
3. Jean Smith Cash. Wit Frances McWate(?) and John Wilson.
4. Janet Leslie. Thomas Young and Robert Allan witnesses.
5. John Smith. Jas Thomas and Jas Henderson wit
6. John Pool. John Cameron and Raterac(?) wit
