Hello
I am looking for the deaths of Alexander Lawson and his wife Janet McIntosh. They married 8 January 1803 in Petty Inverness and had their children there. The children moved away but the parents stayed. Can anyone help me find then please?

Hi Heather
Given the date that your couple married you would be very fortunate if they survived long enough to have their deaths registered after 1855...
so, with that in mind the other options would seem to be to check out what MIs exist for the Petty, Inverness area and also check whether that parish was one which kept death records.
Looks like you might be in luck:
from http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/files/li ... 7to119.pdf
106. PETTY
106/1 B 1633-1757 M 1657-1739 D -
106/2 B 1758-1819 M 1758-1819 D -
106/3 B 1800-19 M 1800-19 D 1800-19
106/4 B 1820-54 M 1820-54 D 1820-53
Not sure where you are based but you should be able to order these films from your local LDS centre.
And at http://www.scotsgenealogy.com/acatalog/ ... re_MI.html
I can see that MIs for the area have been published:
Inverness-shire MI - Petty Old Churchyard, Price: £3.00
Hope you find what you are looking for,
best wishes
Lesley
