I am struggling to read this place name found on a Marriage Certificate from 1850. Before this word is the occupation.
I hope it is ok to post this.
I do know that James was probably born in Strath, Skye.

It looks like Cowcaddens. I presume there is only one Cowcaddens - an area in Glasgow.

Thanks, does that mean his birthplace or where he was staying? As in the 1851 census it says he is from Broadford, Inverness
