I am looking for information on Robert McClatchie and Janet Fisher who married 14 April 1798 Craigie Ayr. Any information would be aprreciated.

MARGRET MCCLATCHIE Female Birth: 21 MAR 1799 Symington, Ayr, Scotland

JANET MCCLATCHIE Female Christening: 13 MAR 1803 Symington, Ayr, Scotland

ELIZABETH MCCLATCHIE Female Christening: 07 FEB 1801 Symington, Ayr, Scotland

Hi Heather,

I have McLatchie's in Craigie but not until the 1820's.

James McLatchie born 1798 in monkton died 28 Aug 1854 Craigie
Wife Jean or Jane Gray birth 20 Aug 1799 Girvan? died 15 May 1877 in Craigie. They had about 11 children, I have found so far.

Hope our trees cross somewhere.

Is that Craigie Ayr or Craigie by Kilmarnock "Ayr"shire ? I am asking because the children are born Symington which is just down the road from the latter.

Many thanks of all of your replys.

Liz thank you for the children but as you said I already had them just a pity they were all girls a boy would haved helped oh well never mind.

Mallog the info I have says Craige Ayr but and extracrted marriage in LDS says Craigie by Kilmarnock Ayr.

When I was at Edinburgh I looked for a birth for Robert in Ayr and only found one the parents being Robert McClatichie and Jane McCowan of Old Cumnock but I have no definate proof that this is correct.

Remember that IGI has only girls in the online database for some districts, perhaps getting hold of the fiche or maybe BVRI could reveal some laddies

Thanks for the idea about BVRI I have a friend who has these discs and she did a lookup for me and found 2 boys under the name of McLatchie. There may even be a possible 2nd marriage which I will have to look into. Which gives us more children to research.
