Janet Ferguson or Betty Davidson .....

I've been searching for my great grandmothers birth record and I've found her brothers born at Airdrie, and Glasgow, but I went through my file and found that years ago I'd copied this OPR record for a Janet born in 1818 to a John Johnson and a Betty Davidson. John is a weaver, as he is in the brothers birth records. The town that John and Betty lived in when Janet was born looks like Sorplone. The IGI has a Janet Johnston born 1818 Coatbridge to a John Johnston and Janet Ferguson or Davidson. What is going on here? I'm thinking the Janet born to John and Betty Davidson is my Janet, but I sure can't figure it out. Since she is the youngest child and the births I have are 1806, 1811, 1814 and then Janet's 1818 I wondered if she was adopted. Her parents had 3 boys, couldn't have more children wanted a girl and adopted her. I hope someone can help me figure this out. Where do I look to find out the names of towns, so I'll know what that town is?

John Johnson & Betty Davidson one is a submitted entry & one an extraction.
