On the IGI www.familysearch.org site
there is a Margaret Murcar marriage to William Allan 10 FEB 1751 Cruden, Aberdeen, Scotland .
Could this be her?
there is also a birth for her in 05 MAR 1832 Aberdour, Aberdeen, Scotland
Parents William Murcar and Isabel Pirie.
Cheers.

Hi Melvinboy
I had a good look yesterday and all I could find was the family on the 1851 census. William (Margaret's father) was aged 44 and was a farmer of 20 acres. There were 5 children listed together with his wife Isobel one of which was Margaret aged 19 years. After that - nothing - is it possible the family moved away and that's why you can't find the marriage in Scotland?
Sorry I couldn't give you better news
Cheers

The family did move away from the area, they moved to Canada in 1857 all except Margaret. At first we thought she had gone but after a relative having a private search done there in Canada it was found she didnt go with the family. She would have been 25 when they left Scotland so as she didnt go to Canada we thought she had stayed behind and been married.Yet another elusive ancestor. But thanks to all who tried to help.
