What info would I find on the marriage entry of John Erskine and Margaret Murray which took place on 11 March 1796 in Clackmannan? I'm trying to find out who John's parents were - would it have that info?

Hi Jan,
Sorry to say this, but out of all the OPR marriages I've got, only one gave a parent name, and that was only the father! However it also gave both the groom's occupation and that of both fathers plus the names of the "witnesses". It was a bit of a treasure. I then realised that it was also indexed under the bride's parish and that one was just as informative, but still no mother's names
Most only give the bride and grooms names, possibly his occupation and sometimes name the parishes each came from. It's a bit of a lottery, I'm afraid.
