My great great grandfather Alexander McKerrow b 1835 d 1909. His photo was in the paper in 1909 when he died wearing his crimean medal as he had served with the black watch. We only have a small cutting of the photo but wonder what was written with the picture in the paper. Not sure which paper it would be in as he is buried in Douglas cemetery along with his wife and daugher but their other son is buried in Crieff where they had a house.
Anybody know where I can find which paper it would have been in please?
old newspaper circa 1909

It could also be worthwhile contacting the Black Watch regimental museum at Balhousie Castle who may have some relevant information.gloryer wrote:My great great grandfather Alexander McKerrow b 1835 d 1909. Write to the Archivist (he was Thomas B Smyth in 1998) at Balhousie Castle, Hay Street, Perth, PH1 5HR, Perth & Kinross, Scotland. A donation to the museum is appreciated; or you can visit the Fair City
