Re Lesley's how to..........? message about emails -
I haven't had this problem before in the years I have been a member but I haven't had any replies to my messages since 23 Feb '09. As far as I know I have done nothing different and the TS address is definitely in my contacts. The replies aren't in my junk mail, 'other' folder or in deleted mail either . The unsavoury stuff doesn't seem to vanish into the ether though!

Hi Rach:

There are two other things you can try to ensure you are getting responses to messages.

Press the PROFILE button in the header of the page. Make sure YES is checked for "Always notify me of replies: Sends an e-mail when someone replies to a topic you have posted in. This can be changed whenever you post." This option may have accidentally been changed

OR Click on the option on the lower left hand corner of the screen with relation to each message you post.

Hi Rae,

I have the same problem. I haven't received notices in a couple of months now. I've also done nothing different, and emails are not in my junk mail.

Some ISPs and/or email providers are filtering out the email before it even reaches your junk mail folder. Hotmail appears to do this (it didn't used to, and then suddenly one day it did, 'cos I stopped getting TS emails. I too had done nothing different) It was only by adding the talkings@talkingscot.com email address to my contacts list that I finally reecieved notifications from TS. There were never any TS emails in my junk mail - I looked....often!!!!

Off to add TS to my address book ... I wasn't even aware I could be missing some very important stuff. I've had problems with a listserv which is hit and miss, but that's a whole other kettle of fish.

well would you believe I got a notification this time ! - but I have changed the email address to send notifications to quite recently - I suspect that the old ISP was "bouncing" TS , they've done it to other contacts before.

Well, I'm still not getting email notifications from TS but I have been getting them from other forums all along.

Just added talkings@talkingscot.com to my address book to see if that helps.
