It has been quite a long time since I have looked into TalkingScot. I am sad to find out that Russell has passed away. My condolences to his family, he will be missed by all of us.

So sorry to read of Russells passing. While never meeting in person I always had a good feeling about the persona that came through in his posts. Condolances to his family and those who knew him best! Have attended 2 funerals already this month and now this news. A genuine month of sorrows.

Paisley Gazette tribute to our Russell.
I likely bumped into him 30 years ago as I worked under the Nurses Training area of the RAH, it's a small world.

Thanks Wilma for posting this tribute to Russell. He was such a warm, kind and caring person, which is reflected so well in this article. We are all better for having known him.

Re: TalkingScot Admin - Russell
Greetings from down under.
Belated condolences to RUSSELL'S family, and his extended genealogy family.
Did not realize it's been so long since I last logged on, though computer down time plus doing 1,000 km per week, looking for spring cattle purchases I could afford to buy, did not help.
Perhaps I should be slowing down as I'm not that much younger.
From the day I enrolled on TalkingScot Russell always had time for my innocent questioning, and as I got more involved many a PM was also exchanged. He always found time to reply, and I relish those shared moments in time.
Just wish I could have returned the favour more, but he had little need for research to be done in NZ.
Seasons greetings to all.
Regards,
Alan SHARP.
