Hi all,

I don't think it is a viewer problem as I can see tif files from SP etc.

This is what I see when viewing the file information in the gallery.

File information
Filename: COMPLOGO.tif
Album name: mesklin / Certificates
File Size: 10 KB
Dimensions: 0 x 0 pixels
Displayed: 4 times
URL: http://talkingscot.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-93
Favorites: Add to Favorites

Note the dimensions!

Hope this helps someone to solve the problem.

downloading from the gallery

Hi again,

Thought I would post this separately.

If I save the files to my computer I can see them. I usually just open them.

Maybe it's too early in the morning but I can't see how to save an image from the Gallery to my 'puter. How do you do it?

saving images

Post by nelmit » Sun Feb 27, 2005 11:24 am

Hello Davie,

My computer is set up to ask me if I want to open or save when I double click on a file.

If yours doesn't then, click on the image you want - this should take you to the file information page - in the file information page right click on the icon and and choose 'save target as'. You should then be able to save the image to a place of your choice on your computer.

Good luck in your quest,
Annette M

The Great TIF Mystery

The definitive answer.

On the Gallery, the only file types that show a thumbnail (little picture) and easily display the full picture are as follows -

JPG, GIF, PNG (there are a couple more obscure types, and they can stay obscure!)

Everything else shows an icon (often depicting file type e.g. TXT). In order to see these, the file must be downloaded to your PC in some form, and your PC must be able to read it. If you download a PDF file, you need an Acrobat reader.

XP can be set up so that the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer will automatically show a compatible file. The ability to instantly enlarge or shrink a graphic file makes this a very desirable way of working with Certificates.
Other Op Systems will require downloading the file and running a matching viewer.

TalkingScot will research all possibilities, and come up with recommended programmes/file types/viewers.

Keep checking the printable guide in the Gallery
