You take a field trip to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and look at all the films in one go
I should be able to see them all in Manchester, I think!
Might just about afford the fare to Manchester, but Salt Lake City is not going to happen!! :lol:

Just revisiting this one - it turned out the Church they attended was Brookfield (Unitarian) Church, Gorton. (Found by downloading the full burial record which mentioned the officiating clergyman and then finding out which church he belonged to at the time)

After contacting the church directly back in June of this year, I was told that a few years back there were two break-ins at the church and on both occaisions a safe was taken. These contained the marriage and birth records, so the current records held go from 1732 - 1881, then there is a large gap until 1936... ho hum. :? No repectors of family records these thieves....and goodness knows where the records ended up. No doubt just thown away as being of no value. :(
