Hi Ted & Jean
I had a look- I think, as an ordinary member, if you have set up your own gallery space then you can delete away those pics you have uploaded to that space, Admin or not. However, as far as I an see Ted, you have not set up gallery space, so the deletion may be as you suggest Jean...not sure at the moment.... one to look into when my brain feels a little more up to it!

Best wishes
Lesley

Hi Lesley

You have that correct. If the images are in a personal gallery then that person can make changes but if the images are in the handwriting analylsis section (for example) then only an Admin person can delete. I had a stint as gallery manager for a bit and handled some requests for deletions during that time.

Best wishes
Jean

On a much brighter note I found a very full description of my English gt grandparents' wedding in a local newspaper from 1881. It was really interesting to not only know what the bride wore but who was in the wedding party and who took the photos!

Hi Everyone

This newspaper article is a belter. Got it from archives in Vermont, US - gives details of the death of my Great Uncle James Allan (no living direct descendants to be offended) - he was in the Royal Scots during WW1 and severely wounded and taken prisoner early in the war. He took his own life in 1935 - a year after his wife passed away. Makes pretty sad reading - I have uploaded the article from the newspaper which a very kind fellow genealogist in the US obtained for me - the article gave me a wealth of info about him and helped me get much further with my research on that side of the family - so I agree that these newspaper sources can be invaluable.

URL - Awaiting approval on the gallery. (2 pages uploaded separately).

Ted
That's so sad but as you say loads of detail about his life and family.

That would be lovely.

Personally I was able to find an interview my father-in-law gave when he was repatriated from a POW camp in WW2 due to ill-health. Never having met him it was good to read what he had to say.

I am just wondering, for other newspaper articles, is it best to have a date or all the papers now indexed and can be searched for keywords?

Thanks
Andy
