Kilbarchan TS Seminar - Roll up, Roll up
The 13th of October is drawing ever closer and I need to firm up numbers for the Kilbarchan meet-up.
Anne has followed the results of her poll and will talk on ‘Land Holdings and Deeds’. David has agreed to talk on the ‘General Scottish Archive’ Two topics which relate to each other quite well.
To cover hire of the premises the day will cost £10.00
I need to place an order soon for any snack lunches required (cost £5.00) Folk can pay on the day though.
Could I ask that everyone who intends joining us on Saturday 13th October here in Kilbarchan e-mail me. Include any dietary requirements you have or special arrangements needed.

Erm
If you all keep your fingers crossed for me, I will be there!
Small memory lapse! Went to pick up a package on Monday and took my Passport as ID. Wee man behind counter looked at me - very sternly! It only expired a week ago, didn't it! Easyjet won't let me fly without picture ID
Picture if you will the mad dash - photies, doctor's signature for photies, find the cheque book (never use the thing now, so it was buried under piles of other stuff)!
It's winging its way to the Passport Office, but the lassie at the Post Office counter said it was a busy time and she hoped I wasn't in a hurry for it

Hi Lesley
You know what they say....."the best laid plans....are cobbled together at the last minute"
Sorry you can't make it. I reckon I'll miss it too if I have to drive down to Bristol to collect Mary. I travelled Easijet to Bristol on my photgraphic bus pass but they almost wouldn't let me catch my return flight home because they had never seen a Scottish senior citizens bus pass

It's a shame I don't get my English bus pass till January!
I've driven Bristol to Glasgow and back umpteen times, sometimes with only a couple of days in between, but I ain't doin that again
I used to do the run in a nice big comfy, fast Citreon Xantia diesel, but I'm driving a tottie wee Fiesta now.

Have emailed but thought I'd post on the forum that I will be travelling from Auchterarder (Perthshire) if anyone needs a lift, can call into Glasgow to the bus and train stations or Johnstone station if need be.

Hi all,
posted by emanday
I needed the passport renewed but only if I knew now what I knew then I could probably saved £50.00 with this company.

I travelled down to Birmingham last November with the same travel company and did what emanday did, I spent £96 pounds for a quick return on my passport only to find out that when I went to the airport a photographic driving licence would have sufficed.Erm

I've not been around much lately, but would like to come on 13th. Let me know if you need a hand with anything.

Hi Liz
I assumed you'd want to be there regardless so I put your name down at the head of my list - right at the beginning.
Since I hadn't seen you signed in anytime I was on-site I presumed that work committments were kinda high just now.
There's not a lot to do just yet. It'll be mainly on the day geting things started.
If you can squeeze in time to pop round and tell me all the things I have forgotten, that would br great.
