James & Mary Lennox - Dewsbury .....

Post by Dennis » Sun Jun 12, 2005 10:32 pm

Hi

Is Dewsbury a wee place that folk from there would know these people, or is it a gigantic metropolis where nobody knows their neighbor?

I had an uncle James who moved there in the late fifties and married an English lass Mary ( nee? ). He may have worked as a policeman there at some point. Don't know if he still lives there as we never hear from him. He was born c1932 in Glasgow.

Hello Dennis,

Dewsbury is neither small nor huge. It is a town of about 50,000 people on the banks of the Calder valley in West Yorkshire. It had a long association with textiles.
