Hi. Can anyon help with a phrase that has been written in the front of a family bible [childs writing] It say Alexander Drummond Aught this book.
Does this mean it was his book?
What does this phrase mean

I'd never heard of the word, but maybe it means that he owned the book, as in the 3rd definition down on this site...

If you go to the bottom of the left hand column you will also find
Aucht or Aught as the number Eight 8 it is often the habit of a child to put their age alongside their name on the fly leaf of a book.
