Hello to all
This is my first ask for help, I am researching my Dads line and have got back to my GGG Grandparents John Morton and Christina Campbell , I am trying to find the birth of their son John Morton which would have been around 1852. Up till now I have only been able to find a record for a William born to the couple, any suggestions where else I would be able to look.
Or maybe there is someboy else out there looking for these families would love to hear from you.

Hello Margaret
Like you I could only find William who was born in 1859 in Cathcart, Renfrew on IGI.
IGI
John Morton m Christina Campbell 8 Jun 1851 Cathcart, Renfrew Scotland
William Morton b 13 Sep 1859 Cathcart Renfrew
I can only assume that any other children were not “registered” or are not listed on IGI.
As 1852 is outside of the SR from 1855, I can only suggest that you try to find if there are any church records available that may give you a lead to the birth of any other children for this couple.
I also recall that some records in IGI are female only (I think), so trying to find if they have been registered with the Kirk may be the way to go.
