St. Andrew's Society of Montreal – Register of Emigrants.

This may be old news and the information may be available elsewhere but I can’t see it. I just came across a PDF file from the St. Andrew's Society of Montreal which has details of around 7000 emigrants from Scotland to Canada between 1857 and 1904. The list is in date order but is searchable.

Hope this is of some use,
Alan

Hi Currie:

Thanks for posting this link. I have added it to The Americas - links to help your research http://talkingscot.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10349

I'm sure it will be of interest! - new source, not only of names, but some pictures as well. The booklets give us a look at the comfort of the wealthy founders and at the hardships of immigrant Scots.

You can also read and search Society's Journals dealing with the historical and current events and activities.

I've posted summaries in Books Based on Scottish Genealogy, History and Culture. http://talkingscot.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 2637#82637

All the best.

Thanks Frances,

I stumbled across that site while looking for something totally unrelated. I didn’t realise there was so much more good stuff there.

(I like the home page. I’ll have to right-click that item in the middle)
