Hi Maggie
If you have a few look ups to do on a site such as Ancestry it can be really beneficial to take out a short subscription:
e.g. you can have 12 record views for 14 days £6.95
http://www.ancestry.co.uk/subscribe/sig ... &TargetId=

I've done this before and collected lots of info in the short time - it is quite good value and well worth it if you have a few folk to look up. The great benefit is that for an English census you can download the actual image.

Best wishes
Lesley

Here I come with the 'have you checked your public library' option  Many now have online subscriptions to databases, including Ancestry, which are available to use in the library at no cost.

Was she born in York? Likely to be living with her father in 1901? The closest I can find is
Annie Hughes aged 25 boarder at Bramley, St Peter, Leeds - born York
Boarding with Joseph Lodge and his wife Bertha. (If you want the full details let me know)

If you have any details from 1881 or 1891 that may help
