Anyone know of any websites to help trace living relatives in Canada? I know that my aunt and my grandmother on my father's side emigrated there (in the 70s or 80s) and I would quite like to re-establish contact with them.
Cheers
Jayne

Hi Jayne,
You could try Canada 411 at http://www.canada411.ca/ as a first step if you know names and possible locations.

Hello Jayne,
If your Scottish relatives in Canada were trying to contact their Scottish relatives it’s more likely they would register on something like GR rather than something specifically Canadian. However if they knew the address of their relatives still in Scotland, and they’re still there, there would possibly be no point in them doing so.
It may be easier for you to try to contact relatives in the UK to see if they know the address. It would be a fairly uncommon thing for all members of a family to completely lose contact with relatives so close after such a short period of time.
You could also check the WorldConnect site http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/
There’s a list of Ontario newspapers here http://www.world-newspapers.com/ontario.html Many newspapers have their recent archives online. If your relatives made it into the newspapers for some reason or other you may find them there. However not all parts of the newspaper necessarily appear in their archives. Some newspapers may have “trying to find” columns.
There may be some useful information here

You could Google for their full name as a term or with the last name first or maybe at Canada Google http://www.google.ca/ with ‘pages from Canada’ selected and see what turns up.
If it is an important matter and all else fails maybe the Canadian Red Cross would be able to assist. http://www.redcross.ca/article.asp?id=10146&tid=001
Hope this helps and good luck,
Alan

BTW Google will pick up GR posts. I'm in the USA and hadn't heard of GR, but I found someone on GR because when I googled their name, their post on GR was picked up a Google search result.
