Thanks Alan, i listened to it and enjoyed it, except its supposed to be a 45 minute program and for some reason it stopped at 29 minutes right in the middle of a sentence (last words "Cambuslang is like a terminus to the Donegal people" with the sound of trains in the background)

Sorry about that David, your refunds in the mail.
It must have been a bit like reading a novel and finding that the last few pages had been torn out.
I saw the 45 minute thing and typed it into what I was about to post but when it started to play I noticed the 27 minutes on the timer, thought the 45 minutes was the error, and deleted it. I didn’t get to listen to all that was there and didn’t notice the problem.
I’d complain only it would probably take four days to fix.
All the best,
Alan

Hi Alan,
I listened with great interest to the Donegal programme as my paternal side arrived in the early 1850's from Castlefinn. Promptly forgot about it after that and would have missed the next instalment but for your reminder.
Many Thanks,
Christine.

Hello Christine,
They’ve got us guessing this week about 4/4 and the link to 3/4 doesn’t appear to be working at the moment. (I’m using a different computer so it could be just me).
A reminder about this week’s BBC Radio Scotland’s “Odyssey” programme.

ITALIANI IN SCOZZIA
(Looks like a mistake in the title, what could the mystery sport be???)
4/4 Booth boys from Glasgow, Fife, Dundee and Aberdeen tell the story of a sport which, in its day, held the same popular appeal as football and dancing.
Don’t miss out,
Alan

Now Playing, the final program:
EPISODE 4
The mystery sport is Boxing, back in the days, probably the depression years, when the only way a young working-class lad could make a bit of extra cash was to do something dangerous like getting his head knocked off.
