Miller family of Liverpool

Post by Kevin Bailey » Wed Sep 09, 2009 5:10 pm

I'm trying to find out something about one Euphemia (or Uphemia) Miller, born in Scotland circa 1814, married Thomas Marley in Liverpool in 1832 and died in Liverpool in 1878. Any information would be gratefully received. Thanks.

Hi Kevin,

You haven't given a lot of information, but there appears to be someone on Ancestry researching this line - is that you?

If not, I don't know how accurate the researcher is, but it suggests she was born in Angus, c1812 in one census, and County, Wigtownshire, Scotland in another.

Maybe that'll help narrow your request down for others to help you further.

Regards Ann

According to the 1851 she was born at Wigtownshire. (actually if I'm being accurate it says County Wigton)

I can't find her in 1871.

Annette

Hello Ann,
thanks for your reply. I haven't come across the researcher on Ancestry, but it's possible s/he's researching the same person. I've managed to find her on three censuses ('41, '51 & '61), and whereas on the 1851 Euphemia's p.o.b. is given as "Scotland", in 1861 it does state she was born in Wigtownshire.
I've yet to locate Euphemia on the 1871 census, I'll try to locate the researcher you mention Ancestry.

Thanks,
Kev.

Hello Annette,
thanks for your reply. I'd already managed to find her on the 1841, 1851 & 1961 censuses, but as you mention, she seems to be nowhere on the 1871 census.
Thanks,
Kev.
