This is a kind of sucess story I suppose, though it didn't make my family tree any larger.
While scrolling through the topics on the forum I idly clicked on a link that took me to a family tree on the web. I noticed that there were some surnames that were familiar so I bookmarked it and went back to what I was doing.
A few days later I had a good look at it and discovered we had GGGgrandparents in common, so I emailed the owner of the tree and made myself known to them, got a very nice email in reply and shared our common ancestry.
It gets better!
In her next email she said that her first cousin was married to someone with the same surname as my husband and lo and behold he turns out to be my husbands first cousin.
So I would reccommend clicking on links even if you don't think it has anything to do with your research.
Regards
Jenny
