Thanks Alan - about 4-5 years ago Andrew looked up a paper copy for me - I continue to be amazed about what can now be researched from afar - what I would like next are the sasines from the NAS
Trish
PS Most of my relatives of a religious bent were either C of E vicars or Elders of the Presbyterian Church. The one Andrew looked up was not a relative - but claimed as such by one of my ancestors.

Thanks Alan. Although I can go the Edinburgh Central Library or the National Library & look them up, it's very handy sometimes to just do it from home. Lazy, or what

The sasines are in the process of being digitised, but how and if they will become available on-line is another question ..........

Very useful, thanks, to have these links confirmed.
Are you aware of the Fasti of the the various secession churches, e.g. (a) The Free Kirk, being available anywhere on-line ?, never mind the equivalent for, -
(b) United Secession Church and its successor, The United Presbyterian Church,
(c) Scottish Episcopal Church
(d) The Reformed Presbyterian Church, aka The Cameronians, who remained outwith the
Established Church of Scotland in 1690
and (e) The Relief Church, aka the Second Secession, which took place in 1733?
I'm aware of Fasti for (a), (b), and (c), but have never come across anything for (d) and (e).

Hello mb,
I didn’t have much luck with those. There is a book “Scottish Episcopal Clergy, 1689-2000” by David M. Bertie. The author has assembled a “Fasti” from a wide variety of sources which he has described in the Introduction. It’s a limited preview and it’s currently showing me most of Part I Biographical Index 1689-1792. That’s the first 120 of about 700 pages. Maybe that will be useful sometimes.

All the best,

Regarding information on Scottish Presbyterian ministers:
The text of Ewing’s Annals of the Free Church of Scotland with supplementary material is online at: http://ecclegen.com
Also on that site is a digital General Index of Scottish Presbyterian Ministers. This index covers the Fasti Ecclesiae Scoticanae, Vols.1-8, Ewing’s Annals; Scott’s Annals of the Original Secession Church; Small’s History of the United Presbyterian Congregations (including the Relief Church), 2 Vols; and a Fasti of the Reformed Presbyterian Church. You can find this Index at http://ecclegen.com/general-index-general-index/
Hope this is of use.
Ronnie
