Searching for David Moodie born 1858 in Saline, Fife

I am looking for information on my step GGrandfather, David Moodie, born in 1858 in Saline, Fife.He married Elizabeth Parrish in 1884 in KIrkdale Liverpool.

They had a son, also David, born in Liverpool 1896 who was my step Grandfather who adopted my mother.

Family history is that David Moodie (the Father) returned to Scotland and remarried, but advertised for his son in the newspapers prior tom his death.

Can anyone shed any light on this?
