Have been helping a friend with some research and discovered a great granddad , John Robertson Watson born Glasgow c 1878... I have found a record on ancestry which I think is him.
John Robertson Watson
Disability Record
Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders
326766
Pension Record Ledger
Discharged 1917,
I only have partial access to Ancestry and wonder if someone has access to Fold3 who could look up this record for me. John died in 1922 of tuberculosis .
Many thanks in advance
Frances

Re: John Robertson Watson
Hello Frances,
I don’t normally have access to Fold3, but had noticed that there was free access during the pandemic through one of my other subscriptions (AmericanAncestors.org) and found the document. There is way too much information for me to type it out on the forum, so I have downloaded the image (2 pages) and will send it to you. There is nothing written on the overleaf, but the categories printed there may be useful to interpret the other side.
Best wishes,
Sarah
P.S. I now see there are several more documents pertaining to the widow, change of address, etc. so will be sending those too.

Re: John Robertson Watson
Francis,
You should be able to access Ancestry through the Library just now, if you have a full library membership, it's free on your home computer during the pandemic - we can in Falkirk.
Glad Sarah found what you need, but worth a try yourself too.
