had a great time...so thought I'd sign the guestbook, lol imagine my shock when I found out I'm related to the man who left a message at the bottom of the page 'George Dryburgh' - his mums dad is my grandads brother!!
And to top it .....I emailed Tommy (The Fife Post is his site) regarding the Adamsons in his tree...and he passed my details onto a lady who's researching one of the people in my tree!!!!
All in all a wonderful day!!!
:D :D :D  :D :D :D

Hi Pete

Was just looking at the names you are researching and discovered that I have Reid, Wallace, Adamson, Dryburgh and Lindsay all in my line and all from Fife. I don't have McBain but I do have Bain. Could we have a connection?

Cheers

Hi Annette,
Quite possibly...funny you should say that.... McBain/Bain - I've just been chatting to someone about that as sometimes the 'Mc' has been dropped.
My mums name is Ann Robina Lindsay Wallace and her mum was Ann McBain Lindsay.I don't have much to go on with her side of the family but I do know her mum was born around 1930 possibly from the Stirling area.Other names on her side are McCallum and Arbuckle but I'm having a nightmare as she doesn't have much info-her dad was John Wallace born around 1925 in Kirkcaldy I think.
The Dryburgh bit is easier...they lived in the Wemyss and George Dryburgh married a Margaret Shand b.1935 (my grandads niece).
Adamson...that was my gt gt grandads first wife Christina Adamson d.1871 aged 24...her father was Lewis Adamson, mother was Mary McCartney.
Sorry if it's all a bit vague! :?

Hi again Pete

At first glance I can't see a connection but I will keep looking. Can I ask what was the name of the Ramsay who died in Kinghorn. Also do you have a Sophia Ramsay who married a Peter Adamson circa 1835?

Will keep in touch

Regards

Annette

I'm just looking...got an Alexander Ramsay b1848 to John Ramsay and Mary Walker...I've not fully added all the Ramsays yet to my tree that I have details for, if I find a Sophia or Peter for those dates I will let you know straight away!
