Brick Wall .....

I am hoping that someone out there can help me get over this brick wall.

I am researching my father's family, the Gordon family from Dundee. I have got back to my G.G.G. Grandfather James Gordon and his wife Betsy Carnegie, parents of John Gordon dob c1813. He married Catherine Watson dob also c1813 on 23/5/1834 and they had 5 children that I know of.

My problem is that I found the names of John's prents from his death certififcate but I cannot find any information on them.

Can anyone out there make any suggestions as to how I can get over this brick wall. Until I can, I am at a standstill with this family.

All help no matter how little will be most appreciated.

Hello Annette

I was at the search rooms on Wednesday and came across that birth in the OPR's and did think the same as you, that someone may have got the name wrong.

Is there anyway that I can check this. There isn't any census records for this date that I know off.
