Help needed to find Jane Beattie.....

Post by Baldy » Tue May 09, 2006 4:57 am

I am in need of some help to find Jane Beattie (C :-1888+++).
Her parents were
Father :- William Beattie
Mother :-out of 2 peole.
1.Mary Helen Frood or
2. Jane Halliday.

William married twice, his 1st wife Mary died 1918 & he remarried in 1919.
Jane Beattie (Halliday) died in 1944
William died in 1941, & his death informant was Jane Beattie (Widow)

Any help woud be greatly appreciated.

Hi Baldy
If Jane was born c1888 and her father remarried in 1919 why do you doubt that his first wife Mary is the mother? :-k
The 1891 census would be a good starting point but there are 35 results for Jane* Beattie aged between 2 and 5 years of age.
If you knew the district she was born it would narrow the search.
Do you have William's marriage certificate?
William Beattie married Mary Frood in 1887 so hopefully they have not moved too far away by 1891
good luck

Hi Baldy
Sorry... you've lost me :?

Hello Baldy,

I suspect that you are not aware that Jean, Jane, and Janet are interchangeable. If you search using wildcards, J*N* for the forename, then you will find her birth in the same district as the marriage.

John

Hi Jim.
Yes you are correct...WHAT ARE THEY DOING THERE?????????
I have made a mistake in puting that up.

I apologise for the confusion

They are people that I am also working on (at the same time)
although they are related.

Kindest Regards
Baldy (au)
