Oxymoron .....
Hello,
it is my habit to click on "View posts since last visit" when I visit this site. Today I have waded through about 100 posts from CatrionaL with "No reply needed" added, although there was a late variation that had "Date passed". What's going on? Were these supposed to be administrative notes and not for the public?
It is like the English Lake District. There are several tarns (tarn=small mountain lake) that have been named "Innominate Tarn", which amused Alf Wainwright.
Regards,
John

Hi John
Nae worries.....just a simple housekeeping maneuver so those of us who try to trawl the unanswered post box don't have to keep stumbling over all those posts that really don't need a reply!! (as you can see there were quite a few
) This seemed to be the simplest approach and Catriona was ready willing and extremely skilled to handle the job
Perhaps one day we'll find a better way
Best wishes
Jean

John,
Sorry to have subjected you to a wade through all these old posts.
The purpose of the maneouvre was to remove them from the list of Unanswered Posts They all had to be plodded through every time we went looking for unanswered posts needing to be dealt with. The AG gave me the go ahead to deal with them in this fashion until another solution could be found.
The mistake I made was in not warning you all and I apologise for that.
I'll be continuing to work on the Unanswered posts for a wee while to come, so perhaps you can simply ignore all posts signed CatrionaL
Best wishes
Catriona

Cant work out that logic seeing as your posts came up as posts and therefore while they didn't require answering they came up as requiring reading
Am I missing something?

But next time someone clicks on "View unanswered posts" these posts won't appear on the list since there's no longer just the single, by definition unanswered post.
Various AG members and Mods regularly check the unanswered posts, - part of the ongoing organisational background activity which isn't always obvious, - so that it's valuable to be able to remove those posts which don't require an answer, and we can't see how else to do it...................

Didn't realise that was what "view unanswered posts" was, sorry. I thought it was similar to new posts since last visit which is why I didn't get it.DavidWW wrote: Mallog

Yes, plodding through all of those unanswered posts can be time consuming.CatrionaL wrote:Sorry to have subjected you to a wade through all these old posts.![]()
