Have I found my gt gt gt grandparents marriage .....

Post by MaryB » Sun Jul 16, 2006 9:13 am

Finally after 8 years! :D

My gt gt grandmother was married Kent - so no mothers name on marriage cert, and a rough idea of when she was born. Father listed as John Gage. I do have her death cert for Greenock, and her mother is listed as Jane Kitchencom - father listed as John Gage.

I have done a search on the IGI and have located a marriage for the following....................

Husband
JOHN GAGE

Birth:
Christening:
Marriage: 13 MAY 1826 Saint Werburgh Hoo, Kent, England
Death:
Burial:

Wife
JANE KITCHENHAM

Birth:
Christening:
Marriage: 13 MAY 1826 Saint Werburgh Hoo, Kent, England
Death:
Burial:

Kitchencom or is the correct name Kitchenham??
Black Isle - Beaton Bethune Campbell
Inverness - Mackintosh
Aberdeen - Mitchell Leslie
Ireland - Cosgrove McGuire
Southshields - Patterson/Pattieson Campbell Sloan
Greenock - Boyle McPhail Blair McKechnie Clark

Well done Mary. A surname check on Kitchencom doesn't yield much but Kitchenham is quite common in Kent.

Reckon John's accent left alot to be desired! Wasn't he the one who managed to get Emma resistered as AMOR?
Searching for Keogh, Kelly, Fitzgerald, Riddell, Stewart, Wilson, McQuilkin, Lynch, Boyle, Cairney, Ross, King, McIlravey, McCurdy, Drennan and Woods (to name but a few).

Also looking for any information on Rathlin Island, County Antrim, Ireland.

Hi Andy :D - no that was her (Emma) hubby william pearce.

I have managed to locate the marriage cert (OPRs) and it didn't cost me a penny :D some site named Medway, that lets you see the original records - so really happy about that - some genealogy wanted to charge me £20 for the same printout

Weird and needs more brain searching, one of the witnesses for John and Jane's marriage was a William Pearce

Although her name is Jane Kitchenham on the marriage cert - she has signed her name as Jane Kitchingham
