Marilyn Thankyou

Thankyou Marilyn for repling to my post, the sites are very helpful. I don't seem to have all that much time lately due to family committments but love to have a dabble when I have a freee moment. Thomas Lowen is a mystery to us as he disappeared into the ether. One of those mysteries. I will follow your leads.
Thanks so much

Hello Clarebelle

Do you know where Thomas originally came from? Some possibilities that come to mind are

- He went to Victoria - although a quick look at the AVRI only returns a Thomas having a child in Vic in 1861 (perhaps too late)
- He returned to England when he had served his time - if you know his county it may be possible to look for him on the census
- He died before civil registration in Tas (1838 I think) and there is no record of same.

Apart from the record of the birth of daughter Sarah in 1832 there is a death of Sarah in Tasmania in 1839 - but age is given as 3 :?:

Thomas Lowen

Hi Trish Thomas Lowen was born in 1804 Nottingham England.
He married Mary Clark in Sutton.
They came to Australia and did have three children one born in England Elizabeth Frederick and Sarah born in Tasmania. Yes Sarah you mentioned was born in 1831 and died an infant.
We have no trace of Thomas after this he may have came over to Victoria or as you say went back to England.
