While we've all been concentrating on Ancestry, understandably in terms of their Scottish activity, FindMyPast.com , previously 1837.com , have snuck up on us, and now have a complete on-line 1841 for England & Wales plus a number of counties for 1861, 1871 and 1891 (the last named might be complete, I don't know the total number of counties well enough for England & Wales).

So why this post? Simply because these databases are searchable on occupation, and place of birth; plus it's possible to search for an address as well as a person.
