Ghosties and Ghoulies

Post by emanday » Wed Feb 14, 2007 5:28 pm

Unbelievable

I've just had a neighbour at the door, (bear in mind we've only been here a year, so don't really know each other that well).

She wanted to know if I'd consider doing a seance for her and some friends

After picking myself up off the floor, I asked her what made her think I did that sort of thing, so she told me about a conversation she'd overheard between my son and a couple of his friends while they, as young men seem to do regularly, had their heads under the bonnet of his car.

One of the boys had asked my son how I was doing with my "dead people". My son had replied that I seemed to spend most of my time in that room (our spare room = computer room) trying to find them, but I did sometimes seem to have a bit of success.

We had a cup of tea and a good laugh about it, but just wait till he gets home [rant]

I bet you wish you could talk to those on the other side. All your genealogical brick walls could be knocked down by asking the relevant deceased people.

All the best,

Andrew

Hi Mary

I was laughing so loud when I was reading your post that I am sure that people outside could hear me. My husband has gone to work and I am by myself at the moment. :P

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could ask all the dead rellies in person what on earth they were up to, while they were living. Think of all the money we would save instead of spending it on SP, etc. Probably wouldn't be as much fun though.

Regards

Sheila

P.S. We have got to get a spiritual, or spirit, or whatever you call it Emoticon.

That is soooo funny!

I think there might be two sides to being able to converse with the dead.
You could be in touch with your most un-favourite aunt, so there'd have to be a switch to shut out the hecklers.

Right enough, it would make things a wee bit easier if I could ask for even a few wee clues.

I don't think I'd want all the answers that way either. Just the really long term granite stone walls (you know the kind I mean :D )

I collared my son when him and his girlfriend came in earlier this evening. They couldn't stop laughing at the thought of the neighbour's picture of me in our spare room chatting to the dear departed!

 Wonder if it might be worth a wee try

With some of my lot, I'd be grateful for just a few wee clues sent my way!

Im not a believer but.........about 15 years ago i had my cards read (because someone dropped out i was persuded to take their place)
anyway two things that spring to mind are
1. She told me about someone called Ellen or Helen that died young and was connected to my Grandma.
My Grandma did have a sister Helen who died aged 21 and I didnt know she had a sister till i started this a few years ago.
2. About a man in unifrom who had to dissapear - this has turned out to be true.

Maybe coincidence but a spot on one :?
