Seeking a marriage:
William Collings, Master Mariner and Margaret McGregor.

Seeking a birth: (Their son) John Collings c.1881.

Pretty sure its not Scotland.

Where did this information come from? The death or marriage cert. of John? Just hoping you have some other little nugget of information that will help narrow things down, like where John was married or died. Have you found him in any census?

Hi Sarah,
John married Margaret Forsyth 1908 Gartsherrie, Lanark
He died 1929 Usual Res. 56, Canmore St., Glasgow.
I don't see him on 1901 census Scotland.

Hi again,
What was John's occupation? Do both his marriage and death records give the same parents' names? Did you find him in 1891? I have found several likely Johns, but they all have father John also, so am wondering if he is consistent about his father's name.
