Flooding in England Counties.

Post by joette » Mon Jul 23, 2007 10:32 am

Hope that all are well & nobody too badly affected by the severe flooding going on in English counties just now.
Another sign of global warming?
Anyway I do hope that all in the affected areas will be safe & not too badly damaged. It,s so sad to see all that destruction-nature can be a cruel mistress.

I'd like to add my best wishes to those of Joette.

It's been heartbreaking to see people going through their homes, trying to salvage much loved and precious belongings.

Yes & it got me thinking what would I take?I have my photos, family papers & important documents in two backpack type bags & these & my handbag is what I would grab in an emergency.
I also have a 72 hour pack-spare clothes,first-aid,water purifying tabs, torch etc. This was recommened to all members of the LDS Church so that in an emergency we could be self-sufficient & be able to leave the aid to those who need it more.It stands ready but if I am still living where I am & need to move because of flooding then I will need to add a boat to the list!
I just hope they get all the help they need.I saw a family with a small baby stranded in their home with little food/water on the news.Heartbreaking.
