Thought the mention of their height amusing :D
John's "declaration of intention" for naturalization in 1915 says he is 5'11" tall, complexion "fair", weight: 190 pounds, hair: dk gray, eyes: blue, distinctive mark: lame in left leg.

Re: Cunningham Family

I also just found that the Chalkley volumes are available for free on HathiTrust: https://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/009029527 The ideal is to see the complete records, rather than abstracts, but maybe you have to go to the Library of Virginia or the Augusta County courthouse for that. Re: Cunningham Family

Good morning, Lizzie, It is certainly possible that your Margaret died in what is now West Virginia (just plain Virginia back then.) There was a thriving settlement of immigrants from Scotland and Ireland in that area at that time. I have some ancestors who were part of the mix. There are a number o...

Hello Ruth4 and a warm [TS_welcome]

Sad to say, Russell passed away in 2016 and is much missed on the forum. I hope someone else with local Kilbarchan knowledge will see your post and be able to help.

All the best,

Sarah
