Before the privacy issues were raised, there were a lot of Edinburgh streets that were not included at street level. The ones that I found to be missing were mostly, but not exclusively, dead ends in residential areas. I don't know what proportion of images have been withdrawn from Google Maps. I suspect that they are a very small minority.
All the best,

The ones that were removed were just two, one showing someone chucking up outside a pub, and the other of a man leaving a sex shop

The cyclists who collided in a Bristol street are still there.

Hi Stewie
That must have been absolutely charming.
Wonder how many more they might have to remove because of peopoe's indiscretions? The mind boggles.

I don't take it as an invasion of privacy...they aren't exactly up-to-date images and you can only see what you would see if you were to walk through the streets yourself! I think it's great and hope they get around to including many more areas for although there have been thousands of images taken, only 25 cities throughout the UK has been done, so lots more to go.
Wouldn't it be fantastic if they went around all the graveyards filming the headstones? I think every family historian should suggest it to them, but in the meantime, sit back and relax and enjoy having a wander through the streets that have been done.
Regards,
Anne H
