Hi Geoff,

Alexander the innkeeper is mentioned on a couple of websites concerning the Arichonan Riots (following part of highland clearances). He is listed as a 'juror'.

Very interesting reading, it does however place Alexander there in 1848.

Just a completely ' out of the box' thought:
Were any of her children born in 1855?
the birth cert for that year asks for the parents' birth place.

Thanks I didn't know that, unforntunately the first child was born in 1854 and my ancestor in 1857.

They are like gold dust, I've only 3 out of my countless certificates, but they are packed full of little gems.
