Are these your Sinclair ancestors???

My grandmother was Magdeline Sinclair in Michigan. Born in 1919. Her parents were Charles Sinclair and Lelah Pettingill. I've been researching information regarding Charles parents, John Sinclair and Sarah Jane Bertram. But these two are quite evasive I have records of John Sinclair being born 1835 , he came to America in 1847 when he was about 6 years old with his father John. The only thing I can find is death records in shiawassee County Michigan. But spellings are all over the place I'm curious if anyone else has relation to the Sinclair's in shiawassee County Michigan? A lot of us are having the same problem trying to locate information on John and Sarah.
