1921 English Census

Post by momat » Thu Jan 06, 2022 2:11 am

Just stating that 1921 English census on Find My Past has only been up and running one hour and it has gone down for Maintenance !!!
I guess that means it has overloaded.
Just when I was getting going.

Hello Maureen,

It looks like too many people ‘just couldn’t wait’ to get into it. I’ve often been guilty of such behaviour myself.

It makes you wonder how they are going to cope with the 30 year wait to the next one. Or how Find My Past will keep their business profitable until 2051. With all the advances in technology maybe by then they’ll be wearing the moniker Find My Future.

In 2031 (or maybe 2032 if the then current pandemic variant is causing lockdowns) all the English will be wishing they were Scottish.

By then I expect to be long gone and forgotten.

All the best,
Alan

I too will be long gone by the time all that happens .I hope I can stay around until the release of the 1921 Scottish Census later this year as that is where my brick walls may come down.
Was actually shocked at cost for each individual census search on Find My Past.
Just as well I only had a few relatives there at that time as the sensible ones had crossed the border to Scotland before then.
