Good evening. I am looking for a bit of reassurance that I am not missing something. It concerns the family of James Young and Mary Henney, married 13 December 1819. They had 11 children and all but one appear in the Old Parish Register, Dumbarton in the usual 18 month / 2 year gap. All that is except a son James who, according to 1841 & 1851 census was born 1825/1827. He died at Ballarat, Victoria, Australia in 1898. I find this so strange and I am a little doubtful that just one child, and a son at that, was not baptised and registered in the OPR.
Any help or confirmation would be greatly appreciated. isk
