Ina, very sorry, no rudeness intended to any one.

My meaning was: Hmm... :"thoughtful" (at least on other fora).

Thr..a....ll :hesitant

:? :? :confused

:-({|= :boo hoo, also slightly relevant due to my profession.

On other threads I have posed questions that show my general lack of facility and inexperience. Obviously I´ve messed up badly here. I repeat my sincere apologies to all. I withdraw at least for the meantime.

Just to echo what has been said.

Back it up!!! xmas:redface:

I am speaking from hard learned experience. As recently my hard drive fried itself the very day I was updating my saved files on CD xmas:frown:
And yes I had just deleted the stored data on the CD as it had some write problem at that time. I am only now back up to the level I was at B.C.

The other point is one never knows when there will be a change in policy with any organisation. Plus you all know they charge for things you would never have thought they would charge for years ago, so that is another possibility however remote it may be.

Hi Thrall,

No problems from me with your post. I like your style as this is something I also do, showing how you feel. Pc's are good when they work but as you can see there are alot of Computer people on this site who have had experience in major crashes on PC etc. We all lock our cars and put the house alarm on at night and backing up information is just as important. It's not so much the loss of information, it's the loss of information that you forgot you had and it's weeks/months later that you go to get it and guess what....it's gone, then you have to try and remember where and how you got it.

If my house went on fire tomorrow what would I grab...?? not my Dead people dot com folder as my wife calls it but all my photographs as they can't be replaced until I get my fire proof safe....

Funny ... I would grab my jeans (if I wasn't wearing them :P ) because in them (or the pants-du-jour), I'm always carrying a 1GB USB memory key that holds all my genie stuff, including scanned images and photos. So far, the size is right, but I might need to upgrade to a 2GB memory key soon, though. Don't leave home without it ...
